Terms of Service

Welcome to Gitlights. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of our platform and applications, including but not limited to Gitlights Analytics and Gitlights Actions Analytics.

By installing a Gitlights application or using any part of our services, you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use Gitlights.

1. Overview of Services

Gitlights provides analytics tools for development teams, integrating with GitHub to extract metadata such as commits, pull requests, reviews, and workflow events. We offer this through web-based dashboards and notifications, depending on the product and plan.

We do not access your source code. All insights are based on metadata and activity logs.

2. User Eligibility and Responsibility

To use Gitlights, you must have a valid GitHub account and the authority to grant permissions on behalf of your organization. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your GitHub account and permissions
• Ensuring that your use of Gitlights complies with applicable laws and GitHub’s terms
• Using Gitlights only for lawful purposes

3. Account and Subscription

You may use Gitlights for free during a limited trial period. After that, access to most features requires a paid plan, which is billed monthly or annually depending on your selection. Payment is managed via Stripe or the GitHub Marketplace.

You may cancel at any time. Upon cancellation, your account remains active until the end of the billing period, after which access is restricted and data is deleted within 30 days.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service, including but not limited to:

• Reverse-engineering or attempting to copy the platform
• Using Gitlights to monitor repositories without appropriate authorization
• Interfering with the infrastructure or trying to gain unauthorized access

5. Intellectual Property

All content, software, and designs provided by Gitlights remain the property of Gitlights or its licensors. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the service without written consent.

6. Termination and Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, present security risks, or engage in abusive behavior. We also reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of the service at any time with notice.

7. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Gitlights is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from decisions made based on Gitlights metrics. Always validate insights with human judgment.

8. Support and Contact

If you experience issues or need help, our support team is reachable at support@gitlights.com. We aim to respond within 2 business days.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. You will be notified of any material changes via email or in-app notifications.
