We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and security of any personal or organizational information you provide while using our services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you interact with our platform, including Gitlights Analytics and Gitlights Actions Analytics.

1. Information We Collect

When you install any Gitlights application, we collect only the necessary data required to generate meaningful development insights. This may include:

• GitHub repository metadata (name, visibility, creation date, etc.)
• Commit data (timestamps, authors, messages)
• Pull request metadata (state, title, timestamps, reviewers, comments)
• Review events and code comment activity
• Workflow execution status from GitHub Actions (if using Gitlights Actions Analytics)

We do not access, store, or process your source code or file contents at any time.

2. How We Use Your Information

The collected data is used solely to provide you with analytics services that improve team visibility and help you understand your development workflow. Specifically, we use your data to:

• Generate KPIs and developer productivity metrics
• Identify bottlenecks in review and delivery cycles
• Support automated reporting and data visualizations

We do not share your information with third parties. All processing is done internally within Gitlights-controlled infrastructure.

3. Data Security and Storage

We follow best practices in data security, including:

• Secure API connections over HTTPS
• Short-lived GitHub OAuth tokens that are never stored permanently
• Restricted access to production environments
• No incoming connections to our workers — data is only pulled from GitHub

Your metrics and processed data are stored securely on encrypted servers. No raw GitHub data is exposed or accessible from outside our platform.

4. Your Rights and Choices

You remain in control of your data. At any time, you may:

• Revoke GitHub permissions from your GitHub account settings
• Uninstall any Gitlights app to stop data access
• Request complete data deletion by emailing support@gitlights.com

5. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the service. Upon uninstallation or cancellation:

• All account data is marked for deletion
• Data is fully removed from our systems within 15 to 30 days

No copies or backups of deleted user data are kept beyond this period.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services or legal requirements. You will be notified via the application or email in case of material changes.
